Microsoft Azure Certifications Retake Policy and Fee
Microsoft Azure certifications have some strict rules again reattempting the exam. The Retake policy for re-appearing in the exam is:
- If you fail an exam the first time, you must wait 24 hours before retaking it.
- All additional attempts (up to 5) are subject to a 14-day waiting period.
- You may only retake an exam up to five times in 12 months following your first attempt. If you fail the exam five times, you will be able to repeat it 12 months after your first attempt.
- Unless your certification has expired, you cannot repeat an exam that you have already passed.

No, you have to pay the additional cost. The cost of reattempts is the same as that of the first attempt. In case you want to retake the AZ-900 exam, you have to pay $99 just like you pay for scheduling the exam for the first time.

If you fail the exam the first time, you must wait at least 24 hours before retaking it. If you do not pass the exam the first time, you must wait 14 days before taking the second one.
